Very Impressive! I like the science behind the
training! I am a lot heavier and can only do 405 lbs
max at present but I am working on it. Your video has
definitely given me some motivation and some ideas on
how to train smarter. Best of success to Layne on your
upcoming endeavors!

That routine would be called Smolov, quite popular with
russion lifters including Andrei Beylav who is quite
possibly the best raw lifter in the world (totalled
over 2000 lbs at 220 lbs bodyweight).

Andrew, I'm sorry you feel that way; but I
think there's about 25,000 people watching these vids
who would beg to differ :)

whats that squat routine he was talking about?

It seems from the comments that some people have a
problem listening and understanding. The man said it
was a world record in his weight class in the apa.
Never did he say that he was the strongest man in the
world.

I have just recently got into lifting heavy, and
powerlifting, and I think this is an inspiration, and
really shows me what I need to work on to get where I
want to be. Good stuff, thanks Layne!

Love your videos and Isabel's episodes as well. Its
very motivating to see your amazing discipline and
dedication. And you and your wife as a couple are
inspiring. It's nice to see the support you give to
each other.

love the vid bro.. keep em coming

I said it was a world record for my weight class, raw,
in that organization.

world strongest man is
1) not powerlifting 2) not done on a true deadlift set
up 3) not in my weight class 4) not with this
organization and 5) not raw (many use singly ply suits
even at WSM) I believe

That said, obviously
the weights those gentlemen lift are extremely
impressive, but I never compared myself to them or
anyone else in any other weight class. I have no
disillusions that I am the strongest man on the planet.
I know that is certainly not the case

like the video. As a dead lift power lifter, i say the
real Key to it is in you'r legs, lower back and grip.
Ya you want everything else stronger to help but if you
dont have much time then just do those three.
