Hey Jamie! Thanks for the recipe, I am excited to try
it! Do you have any more natural replacements for
splenda? Have you heard anything about whey low?
http://www.wheylow.com/ I was just looking around for
a replacement and I stumbled upon it. I was curious
about what you thought. Thanks!!

For all you guys living in the UK that are struggling
with sugar issues! I have been buying xylitol from
holland and barretts no problem. It tastes great in all
Jamie's recipes !!! Mmmmmm

I have made this recipe twice now and the results are
TRAGIC. It turns out really spongy and LOOKS like a
sponge. When I went to the grocery store and was trying
to look at the baby food applesauce it was really
embarressing because there was a couple there with a
baby shopping (and I have NEVER stepped foot down that
isle before...) and the dad just kept looking at me.
Thank god I had a shopping list and I realized he was
staring at me (with NO baby...looking at baby food) and
I made it look like I was on a quest for someone else
or looking for something REALLY specific on my list. I
was pretty mortified.... Second time around making
this, I decided to do natural applesauce with no added
sugar without the added embarressment as well. I think
these are supposed to look fluffy but mine were nasty!
Had to throw them away...Also, I agree with jacie244
about the Splenda and Crystal Light. I am not going to
lie, I have used Splenda for a few months in some
recipes because I live overseas and I was not able to
purchase anything else. Now the United Kingdom is
selling Truvia (just recently, as the Stevia Leaf was
illegal here) so I was finally able to join that
bandwagon!

okay, i'm a newbie on the site, but even i know
*splenda* is not "clean".
it's a bad, very bad,
nasty, chemically-altered, manufactured ingredient.

the only thing i know about it, is that it causes
all sorts of health problems for people, so that's not
something i want to put in my healthy body.

what are other people's
experiences?

Maybe my def of 'clean' is a
little different? I've never heard of anyone refer to
splenda as 'clean'.....but again...i come from a
different nutritional and natural background.

I'll have to look around here some more to check
out some other recipes, but i'm just kinda surprised,
that's all.

I love the idea of these, and they
look great, but they sure don't sound
'clean'....lol!

and....crystal light? that's
not clean, either.

why not just use
fresh-squeezed lemon juice and some zest -- yum!! all
natural and the flavor from mother nature!

not
sure about the "baby food" applesauce
either!

most health-conscious moms who care
about what goes into their babies bodies make their own
'baby food' -- so applesauce (which is for both babies
and adults...lol)...again...should be homemade -- i
mean -- it's just apples - nothing hard about that!
chop 'em up, cook 'em up, add some FRESH lemon juice
from a REAL lemon and viola! applesauce -- super
clean! lol!

don't know of any moms who use
store-bought 'baby food' actually. ;)

the rest
looks fine....and i'm looking forward to trying it --
but making it truly "clean" and healthy.
Real
lemons and Real apples and Real clean from mother
nature.

again, i'm new to this site in
particular -- but have been eating what we call 'clean'
for a very long time. so, this is kinda
interesting.
i am looking for some great new
recipes and just happened upon this site, so i will
look around some more. was just caught off guard by
this one, using splenda, baby food and crystal
light....lol!

i wonder if other fairly new
folks to the site have the same sort of questions.

i'd be interested to hear...and i'll keep looking
around in the meantime.

healthy eating all!
;)

Jamie, these are AWESOME! However, I must admit that my
"guilty pleasure" is the pumpkin protein bars omg those
are amazing!! I also LOVE the cinnamon swirl bread and
the carrot protein squares are great too. Thanks SO
MUCH for devoting your life to learning such useful
information and sharing it with us!

So glad you guys like them!! I've actually started
adding 1/4 cup fat free cottage cheese or the non-dairy
cottage cheese and it tastes amazing that way! Hope
you'll try it sometime!

Thanks for sharing these. Finally something I can
actually cook and not fail at. They really help.

Probably a stupid question, but I'm guess the
nutritional info is per serving, not for the entire
batch right?
