Thanks for an awesome video Ric. Me and my girlfriend have recently visited santa monica, malibu and venice from the U.K. We took some time to visit Golds gym, muscle beach and the peir and had an awesome time, so the video has refreshed some great memories. The place is so inspiring and it must be amazing to live around there, I would love to move over given the opportunity, but for now will have to get by with your great video blogs!
So much enjoyed seeing Muscle Beach again. My uncle (Blain Munro) introduced me to Muscle Beach in 1966. Uncle Bain worked out at Muscle Beach several times a month from about 1938 until about 1950. He remembered working out next to a very young Steve Reeves. Back then they were called health fanatics.
Good stuff Ric. We have friends that live in Santa Monica (about 1/2 a mile off the beach), so my wife and I had a chance to hang out on the pier when we were down their visiting. If it wasn't so d@mn expensive I would probably move down there. The weather is amazing!
Revisit the Golden Days of Bodybuilding with Ric Drasin! Hear all his stories about training at Gold's Gym in Venice during the 1970's with bodybuilding legends such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Frank Zane, Franco Columbo, Dave Draper, and more!
